The Dachshund and Chihuahua house-training Quandary.
While some foods might be OK for them to eat, there are still many foods and ingredients that may be threatening or deadly to your Chihuahua.
Ever heard the old chestnut that chocolate can kills dogs? Well, some chocolate can be really deadly to dogs, causing fits, coma, and even death. You should generally keep your chocolate stored in area that they might never be able access. In brief never give your chihuahua a genuine bone. Like a bone, sticks can also damage a dogs interior organs from chipping. But as she grew her legs got long and her belly area became more concaved like a Chihuahua. I also found her idiosyncrasies to be mixed between the 2 breeds too. This included the quandary of housebreaking. Though the Dachshund is trainable they won't be straightforward to coach. As an important point the Dachshund may try to train its tutor. The unyielding personality of this dog makes them resistant and not the simplest to house-train. The 1st is to crate train or confinement train your dog. In all cases, consistency is the necessary key. Once a unacceptable habit starts, it is much tougher to break and retrain your dog. Hollie, my Dachshund-Chihuahua has a little of both temperaments which has made house-training her quite the challenge. If you see them gnawing on a stick, simply scream NO. They should get the picture after 2 times. Even in tiny amounts, they may cause kidney failure.
